Our story begins with a pair of hikers: Beebee and Booboo, who were angling along the crooked path of the multicoloured mountainside of Sham Rock. Anyone and everyone knew that they had travelled too far. You and I know it because we are smarter than that. However, Beebee and Booboo did not know it; they had walked too far! What will they discover in this unknown land?

“Look What I’ve found!” called my grandson, who was gazing into a puddle on the Derbyshire Moors.
“Is it a Little Rock Person?” I asked…and that is where my story begins.
Rock People are very hard to find because they are camouflaged, so they look just like ordinary rocks. But they are not ordinary rocks! They are all very different little people. They have retractable arms and legs, head pipes that act as snorkels, hooks and periscopes and their amazing superpowers are hidden behind secret trap doors in their stomachs. They are armour-plated, amphibious and GREAT fun!
They move by using their tiny legs which fold up inside their bodies when they need to roll about. They don’t talk, but they have a secret tapping language that only Rock People can hear (except for Nannie, who is deaf). Sometimes, they get stuck in people’s shoes, or picked up and put into someone’s pocket, or blown away by the wind or even ‘licked up’ onto the tongue of a creature. YUCK!
The Rock Family live in a cosy, secret home inside the trunk of an ancient oak tree. They have a workshop and they build wonderful things like rockets. As you can imagine, they are ALWAYS having adventures!
Damian was upset because he could not afford a ticket to visit Santa’s Grotto in the mall.

Brothers, Charlie and Freddie White, along with their friends--The Rainbow Gang, find a very unusual ancient looking chest in their dad's garden shed. The chest magically speaks to them and sends them underground to a world inhabited by elves. The elf world is being disturbed by a clumsy young giant from a world below the elf world. The ensuing, sometimes humorous, adventure brings them into contact with lots of unusual creatures and sees The Rainbow Gang set off on a mission to rescue the young giant, whose actions have disrupted the water tables underground. During their adventure, the gang encounters giant hedgehogs, giant moles and large talking fish. Charlie and his friends come into contact with another gang 'The Girls', who help them in their adventure and both gangs strike up a lasting friendship.
The Playground Hero is a story about a school boy named Jack who doesn’t have any friends. It explores the hurtful feelings of being lonely, isolated and bullied. This book explores the huge positive impact that one child can have on another child’s life through a simple act of kindness. It is a call to action for children to make a positive difference in another child’s life through inclusion. It is a perfect example of modelling to children the actions underpinning the words: ‘be kind’.
Have you ever wondered what a hermit crab goes through when his old shell is too small or is broken? Just remember, the grass isn’t always greener.

Simon Bear, Mollie, Gwen, Baby Bear, Arthur, and Benjamin Bear are “proper” bears made from soft mohair fabric with moveable joints and growlers by Helen, the owner of the gift shop. Though the bears were made to sell, Helen falls in love with their characters and she realises she can’t let them go! So the bears live together on the top shelf in the gift shop where they yearn to be involved in life “outside.”
Suspicions arise when chocolates go missing from the cabinet, and when Helen opens the shop in the morning the bears seem to have swapped places on the shelf.
In the story you can find out how the bears get out through the shop window for their adventures in and around the town. Prepare yourselves for some “ups and downs” as you read about the predicaments Baby Bear gets into (the other bears are always around to help out), and get to know Arthur before he sets off on his travels!
